These sites set no cookies and load nothing from a third party. Recon and the games send one small usage signal back to AvecVu, described below. Rebar sends nothing to AvecVu. What is collected is listed here in full.

No cookies. No analytics. No tracking pixels. No third party scripts, and no third party fonts: the two typefaces are served from this domain rather than from Google.

Like most websites, the server that delivers these pages keeps access logs. Each entry records the visitor's IP address, browser version, the page requested and the referring page. They are used to see whether the site is working and whether anything is broken. They are kept privately for 90 days and then deleted automatically.

Usage counts in the apps

Recon and the games each send one small signal to AvecVu when they are opened, so it is known whether the apps are used and how often. The signal carries the app's name, what happened (today, only that the app was opened), a random id the app made for itself the first time it ran, and the app's version. No name, no email, no account, no location and none of your content travel with it.

The id is random and is not tied to you anywhere. Counts and events are kept indefinitely without any network address. The server logs that first receive the signal do hold your IP address next to it, for the same 90 days as any other access log, and are then deleted. There are no cookies and no third parties involved. Clearing the site's data in your browser resets the id; so does removing an app you added to your home screen. Ask and the events for your id will be deleted.

Recon

Recon has no account and no login. Routes, saved maps and everything else it knows stay in the browser on the device. Apart from the usage signal above, nothing is sent to AvecVu.

There is one exception, and it only happens if you choose it. When you send feedback through the form inside Recon, that submission records:

• the message you wrote
• the name of the route you had loaded
• your browser version and the page address you were on
• your email address, only if you enter one so a reply can be sent

It is stored privately and a copy is filed in a private issue tracker so the problem can be tracked to a fix. Feedback is kept indefinitely, because it is a record of a reported bug. Ask and it will be deleted.

Recon draws its map and its stop data from files served by AvecVu. It also asks a weather service for the forecast along a route, and for routes outside California it asks OpenStreetMap's public services for stop information. Those requests go directly from your browser to those services and are subject to their own terms.

Rebar

Rebar is an iPhone app, in testing through Apple's TestFlight. It has no AvecVu account and no AvecVu server holding your training, and it does not send the usage signal above. Everything you log is kept on the phone.

Connecting intervals.icu is optional. If you connect it, your intervals.icu athlete id and API key are kept in the iPhone's Keychain, on that phone only. Rebar then reads your training calendar from intervals.icu and sends your logged sessions and weigh-ins to your own account there, directly from the phone. Nothing passes through AvecVu on the way.

Opening an exercise's how-to loads YouTube's embedded player, from YouTube, for that exercise's video. YouTube's terms and Google's privacy policy apply to it.

A backup is a file you save yourself, wherever you choose. Restoring reads it back.

As with any app in TestFlight, Apple can pass crash reports, and any feedback you choose to send from TestFlight, to AvecVu through App Store Connect.

Games

The games have no account and no login. They send the usage signal above, and nothing about who played or how.

Children

These are not services directed at children, and no age information is collected.

Do Not Track

Nothing here tracks visitors across sites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off. Signals are honored by default, in the sense that the behavior they would disable does not exist here.

Changes

If any of this changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no mailing list to notify.
